Say What?
Feel like no one listens anymore? Well one way to have people hear you out is by letting your clothes do the talking. Celebrities do it all the time, whether they want to cuss out the hovering paparazzi or just send out a msg to the world.
Here are some not so subtle ways to get people to hear ya
Tip: Try not to wear a t-shirt that curses like a pirate, especially if you are going to a place where family and kids are going to be around.

And The Oscar Goes to..
Here are my picks for “Best Dressed”
Now if you ask me, that’s how a 15-year-old should look on the red carpet! Love the dress, the shoes she looked immaculate! The full flouncy skirt adds a girly yet 1940′s glamour to her look.
Jennifer Hudson looked gorgeous, I love this dress on her! Here is a woman who rises above the drama and looks muy caliente while doing it! Coral is beautiful this season and she wears it well.
Beautiful dress, I noticed the two dominant colors on this red carpet event were red and nude/earthy tones and not all of them pulled it off, but Halle Berry looks amazing in this.
Again, an other actresses wearing earthy tones and I’m liking it
Now here is a woman who has a fabulous figure and always knows how to show it off!
One of my favorite red dresses for this event!
I love the hair, the dress, the lace its perfect!
Now are my picks for “What were they thinking?!”
Oh I feel bad, I love Penelope and I understand that she gave birth like a month ago, but seriously she should not be in this dress! I don’t think it shows in this picture, but on tv you can clearly see her postpartum bump…she could have avoided that by wearing a different dress, and the boobs
bad, just bad
One word: who made that mess?! lol
The hair, the dress…everything is wrong about this look…love Scarlett though
Girl, this is the Oscars not a Baywatch beach party!
What did you guys think? What was your favorite dress on the red carpet?
Luv,
Sara D.

My Sleep Aid

I'm making use of the snow before it starts melting SOOOON!!!! (Take a hint Mr. Snowman...you are not wanted here!)
I go through bouts of insomnia whenever I am under a lot of pressure and stressed out. I worry way too much, and during these times I sleep for 2 or 3 hours max and this can go on for a week
I have been having this problem ever since I went back to school, I’m sure other students can relate…I hardly can sleep, and when I do I’m always having nightmares (bugs crawling all over me, rodents and bugs all over my apartment etc) I have yet to succumb to the temptation of taking sleeping pills (almost did, until my cousin who knows her meds advised me not to hehe). I have been trying different thing out, such as this Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy “Sleep” collection, I have the sleep pillow mist which I spray all over my bed sheets and pillows before I sleep and I have also been using the sleep hand cream. Now, let me just make this clear IT DOES NOT PUT ME TO SLEEP!! lol but what I hope it would do is create a habit so that whenever I smell this scent, it reminds me of sleeping and gets me drowsy…it has lavender and chamomile and both, I find, help in soothing and relaxing me.
It comes in two different scents (Lavender & Chamomile) and (Lavender and Vanilla) I’m not a big fan of vanilla as it gives me headaches, but because I ran out of the chamomile hand cream, I started using the vanilla one and I’m surprised that you can hardly smell the vanilla, I think the lavender drowns it out.
Do you have any sleep “rituals”? Do they work? lol

Pedro del Hierro
*sigh* yes I’m beginning this post with a *le sigh* because I have been waiting for this store to open in Kuwait for years, you can find Pedro del Hierro in UAE and Saudi Arabia so I’m hoping we are next. This is one of my favorite Spanish brands, and almost every summer when we visit Spain, I have to shop there!
I think over all my favorite designers all have latin/Spanish roots whether it is Oscar de la Renta, or Carolina Herrera they all seem to understand the women’s body and they accentuate the figure with their clothes in such a beautiful way that even a small waif would look luscious, curvy and ultra feminine. I mean when Carolina Herrera was asked what key items a woman should have in her closet, her reply was “skirts, skirts, and more skirts” how can you not love her for that?!
Ok, back to Pedro lol I love his clothes because they can easily translate from office look to dinner out with friends, I worked in a bank so I had to look “put together” all the time, so his skirts and shirts made that possible. I love the intricate detail on the fabrics he uses, some of his items are very elaborate and others are casual, you do get a wide range of verity and the prices are reasonable for an everyday look. So now that we have Uterque, I hope we get Pedro del Hierro soon!

Mr Porter
Finally!! A website dedicated to our dashing men, I am personally thrilled over this website’s launch, especially since buying gifts for my husband gets to be hectic at times not to count the fact that international shipping costs is insane (DHL, Fedex etc) so I love the fact that I get to shop, gift wrap and send directly to Kuwait! Love it! Love it!
The website has given access to founding members to shop and orders will be shipped for FREE starting from Feb 18, to Feb 22 I believe when it officially launches. The selection of brands they have is great, the inventory is not as large as the one in net-a-porter of course but for a start, it is great!
The brands serve various tastes and looks, very cosmopolitan, man about town look to it.
Have fun shopping!

My History with Shoes
Every girl remembers her first love and since love is in the air, I could not help but look back at one of my on going love/hate relationship with my shoes, yes, I loved them, they hated me back. But looking back, those god awful high heels have given me some good memories that will last me awhile, at least longer than the box of bonbons that I am devouring as I write this. My shoes, my love you have been there for me in the most embarrassing moments in my life, in fact if it weren’t for you I probably would have had fewer red-faced moments and you have also been there for me in the most memorable moments in my life, so to you I dedicate this post.
- Back in the college years, I was trying to get dressed for class and it was winter so of course I was trying to get into my knee-high boots, half way through zipping them the zipper gets caught and pulls my tights…now the zipper won’t zip up nor unzip! Stuck, with a half flailing knee-high boot on my foot, I struggle, sweat, pull, tug, rip until I manage to get it off and just in time to miss my class. (shoe image unavailable)
- Also in college, I was wearing my Zara flip-flops, summer time the best time to flip-flop around campus of course I had not realized that if you do not ever wear flats you need to break into them just like you would with very high heels. Coming down the stairs, I forget how to step down with flip-flops that barely hold on to my feet, slip, miss a few steps and fall right in front of my then stalker, proving to him once and for all that I am not stalk-worthy. (shoe image unavailable)
- And yet an other knee-high boots anecdote, ugly as hell I have no idea what I was doing wearing them. I got them from that store in Fanar’s basement? Steps? I don’t know, they were beige and I needed beige boots so we went home together. So I wear them to work, and in my manager’s office right after updating him with good news about my work I turn to leave the office only to stumble on my own foot and fall, land right on my knees, smooth! (shoe image unavailable)
- I once went to a hair salon in Kuwait, right after work. Dressed in my work clothes, with knee-high boots (it’s always the knee-highs, isn’t it?) before I leave …my hairdresser complements me on my boots, I thank, pay and leave. I take one step down the marble stairs, only to miss and land on my head bumping it on the marble steps just enough times to get me dazed and confused as to what just happened. (shoe image unavailable)
- Recently, I was wearing my super high heels, beige patent leather and loving every bit of it, I leave my car look up to check if the street is clear for me to cross not realizing that there is a big pot hole underneath me. My ankle twists and I fall like a chopped tree…timberrrr!
- This moment in my shoe history I will probably never forget, I was out with my husband for dinner and then to the theater in NYC so I had on my LBD, and wore a pair of shoes that I have had for a while but have never worn before. After the show, walking through broadway to our hotel we get mobbed by a group of girls who want to take pictures of my shoes and me in them, this has never ever happened to me before of course, so I stood there while they took pictures and asked me to “work it girl”. Mortified my husband pulls me to rush back to the hotel, but I liked it…just a wee bit…I did.
It seems like I have had more red-in-the-face moments than happier moments, and I don’t mind ….you are still worth it, my pain in the foot shoes :*
What has been your worst/best moment with your favorite clothing item?
Luv,
Sara D.
