SAG 2011 Red Carpet
Did you guys catch the red carpet arrivals for the SAG 2011 awards? I caught a glimpse, nothing very special I guess it’s because it’s the SAG its a bit laid back. I was still looking forward to watch the cast of “The Black Swan” walk the red carpet, the actresses are beautiful and have great sense of style, but what really caught my attention was Winona Ryder in Alberta Ferretti, the dress is white and beautiful but it looks like a bridal gown! In fact net-a-porter categorized it under the bridal boutique, I mean really she looks great in it, the dress is beautiful…I just wish she would have asked them to make one for her in a different color or something.
Here are my favs though
And now for the HOT HOT TOTTIES! I mean the muy caliente on the red carpet goes to:
The newly single Eva Longoria looked mighty fine on the red carpet, revenge is a dish best served HOT take that Tony Parker!
I swear watching her on the red carpet, I was thinking how can she not have a wardrobe malfunction in that dress, and then looking closely at the dress it appears to have a sheer panel that holds the whole dress in place.
I normally like to keep things classy, but seriously if you’ve got it then flaunt it! That dress looked hot on her, and she knew it!
What did you all think? Which dress was your favorite?

Atelier Aimée
This Italian atelier Atelier Aimee offers brides a kaleidoscope of styles in terms of bridal gowns, and normally I’d prefer designers to have their own style rather than be all over the place, I found some of their collections to be very pretty. The ones that caught my attention were mainly from the “In the Garden of Dreams” collection which has a Midsummer Night’sDream/The Secret Garden kind of feel to the dresses, they are great for brides who are looking to really make an entrance and wow their guests, it might be a little bit too much for some but for a diva it is just right

Is Your Shampoo Paraben Free?
Awhile back I was shopping and was stopped by one of the salesmen at Henri Bendel, I normally would avoid salespeople like a plague but the product he had looked interesting. First of, the name of the product is “Barista” which quickly caught my attention even though I am not a big coffee drinker lol but the smell was intoxicating! He explained to me how coffee based products are actually great at cleansing the skin and hair, and its Paraben, Sulfates, Phthalates free!
Well, how harmful is the chemical “paraben”? Paraben is used as a preservative in most commercial based products, most of the products we use on our skin on daily basis would most likely contain paraben along with other chemicals. Even though I am not a health freak, the fact that the skin is the largest organ in our body I am quiet concerned with what I put on it these days, so it is not such a bad idea to start checking if your products are free of these chemicals.
Back to Barista, I got the travel pack which contained I believe 4 bottles (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion) so what did I think of the Barista line? The shampoo and shower gel are divine, they smell great a great wake up call in the morning shower and the smell does not linger on your body. The downside? I did not like the body lotion, even though I have super dry skin I felt that the lotion was too heavy and was not absorbed into my skin as quick the same thing goes to the conditioner, it just didn’t do much for me and I do not even have dry hair!
An other product I enjoyed is eos, they have a line of body lotions and lip balms which are Gluten-free, Paraben-free, Petrolatum-free, Phthalate-free! Phew! That was a long list! Sometimes I think they just like to jam in anything that their product is NOT made of
I have been using their lip balm and I like it, even though I am pretty picky with my lip balm but this one goes on smoothly, does not dry out and does not have the waxy texture that some balms have and it smells nice.
So, what kind of “healthy” beauty products are you into?

Make Like Audrey and Go Classy
Jason Wu has been wooing us with his beautiful creations and this little number is just the item a woman needs in her closet! I love the silhouette on this dress, it is reminiscent of the beautiful dresses the elegant Audrey Hepburn used to wear, and I cannot have enough of clothes that remind me of her!

Must Haves for the Home
I was never a big fan of candles but found them a great alternative for the home since I do not use my bukhoor stash everyday in the US, and I have tried many candles from Yankee Candles to Bath and Body Works…all good, but nothing like the one I picked up from Henri Bendel!! It comes in travel size and several scent, but the one that struck me most was the Gardenia, sucker for all flowery scents of course I went with that, I just burnt one today and the room was quickly filled with the sweet smell of Gardenia. Seriously I cannot get over how amazing this candle smells, a must have for the home.
Luv,
Sara D.
Note: if you are a fan of Gardenia Chanel perfume, then you’ll LOVE this!

Eataly NYC
It’s been awhile, I have been neglecting my blog lately busy with family and friends back home…but now that I am back in the US I can blog
I recently visited Eataly in NYC, the place has the same concept of Dean & Deluca but at a larger scale and they sell all Italian products 70% of the products are not available in other stores in the US, so it is pretty much real and authentic Italian. The place is located on 5th Ave facing the Madison Square Park (in front of Shake Shack), when you walk in the place is designed in sections, fruits, vegetables, fish, pasta, chocolates and coffee, cheese and wine…each section has a restaurant that allows you to dine and try out the products they sell. We stopped at the pasta and pizza restaurant and the food quickly took us back to our honeymoon in Capri, Italy. The food was divine! We loved it so much, we went there again the next day…the place is pretty busy so if you don’t want to waste a whole hour waiting for a table, go in to book a table and walk around the park and the nearby stores.
I’ll leave you with some pictures of the place, enjoy
Luv,
Sara D.
