Flower Girl Dresses @ Judeelala.com
Although I do not have kids of my own, my sister and I are always on the lookout for cute outfits for her kids, especially her daughter. We came across this brand and that was way before I was even engaged. We were waiting for any event for Jude to wear this dress!
Fast forward months later, I get engaged and preparing for my wedding, so of course my sister and I had to plan Jude’s outfit. I really wanted both her kids at my wedding. My sister didn’t have to think hard for Jude’s dress, she knew the Marie Antoinette dress from ilovegorgeous is the PERFECT dress for her to wear on my wedding.
Of course Jude LOVED the dress, she kept checking her dress from front and back and even asked her brother for his opinion! Sweeet :* we loved the dress so much my sister decided to introduce the collection to www.judeelala.com
The brand ilovegorgeous is coming soon to www.judeelala.com the perfect dresses for flower girls or Eid
Here are some pictures from the collection:

Emmys 2010 Red Carpet Looks
For some reason, the dresses that I liked were dissed by the “Fashion police” lol But I still find them lovely!
Here are my favs:
She normally plays it safe and goes with basic black, love the fact that Tina Fey is spicing it up on the Red carpet lately!
and last but certainly not least!
Does anyone know who designed Mindy’s dress? I am not sure if it is Armani, but anyway the dress is lovely it just seems too much for her small frame, but I don’t blame her for wanting to wear it!
What were your favorite looks?

Go On and Take a Bow
If we are in a financial crisis, fashion this Fall 2010 is surely deceiving our bank accounts! Designers are going for GOLD! Yes, gold embellishments, gold leaves and elaborate and expensive looking fabrics. The genius designer who left the fashion world too soon, Alexander McQueen, managed to design and complete 80% of the Fall 2010 collection consisting of 16 looks. While Oscar de la Renta is designing for the currently trendy gadgets by introducing the iPad clutch, McQueen decided to pay homage to the old times (Medieval time to be exact) his collection is full of deep reds, yellow gold and will surely make our bank accounts look full, and NASDAQ look green!
Here are some of the looks from his collection:
Want to sport this trend without looking too costumy? Here are some items inspired by McQueen’s collection this Fall that will take these looks from the Runway to the Realway
Tip: Avoid looking too trendy by wearing ONE item only and not over doing the gold

Simply Loving This!
I have been eyeing this dress on net-a-porter for a couple of weeks now, it is so lovely a perfect dress for a “melcha” don’t you think?
I love the construction on it, I think it would make every bride-to-be simply curvy and lovely! I love the corset and the “mille-feuille” skirt, Vivienne Westwood never fails to make every body (no matter what shape/size) impressive

Semi-homemade Strawberry Shortcake
The first time I made this cake, I made a mistake of baking it in one pan and cutting it in half and due to its soft fluffy texture, it fell apart and looked like a HOT MESS! :s
So the next time I made it, I used to 2 pans and split the cake mix in half for the two.
Here are the steps to this easy to make cake!
What you’ll need:
* Pillsbury or Betty Crocker white cake mix
* Eggs
* Vegetable oil
* Cool Whip
* Fresh strawberries
* Some sugar and a bit of lemon juice
* 2 baking pans
The steps:
* Mix the cake mix as instructed on the box
* slice the strawberries, leaving the larger nicer ones for the top layer (for better presentation). To make the strawberries juicy and bleed I add a bit of lemon juice and sugar (this will go in the middle layer only) mix them all together to get its juices flowing.
* Bake the cake in the oven for 27 min (until light golden brown, I like it soft and fluffy)
Cover the middle layer with a dallop of cool whip and then add the strawberry mix, put the second layer of cake then decorate! Simple and yummy
The reason why I choose to make things semi-homemade is because I have yet to taste a cake made from scratch that tastes really good (unless from a chef or a great bakery) but it seems that Pillsbury always tastes a lot better than a cake made from scratch, so I opt out and go for the safe way by getting a cake mix

Hamad Al Humaidan: A young Kuwaiti Artist
My husband showed me a video of this 10-year-old KUWAITI boy, and was amazed by his talent (mashalla). The 10 year old currently lives in England with his parents, and he first started painting at the age of 7. Realizing the potential he has, his parents encouraged him and his work has been featured in many museums and he has sold many of his works to art collectors around the world. Some people are comparing his work to Picasso! Lovely, but what really ticked me was the title of the video on the BBC link, it says (10 Year Old British School Boy hailed as “next Picasso”) the kid is not British, he may study in Britain for the time being, but the boy is Kuwaiti.
Here is the video and some of his art work:

My recipe on Viva’s Competition
I shared my “recipe” on Viva’s competition of the rose-water ice cream cake, at first I was a bit reluctant because I felt that it is semi-homemade and not fair. I realized it tastes and looks nice so what the hey
So if you like it, like it

Creative Wedding Cakes
This cake was created by Cake Alchemy in NY, it was inspired by the glass artist Dale Chihuly. I think it is so creative and to think this is all made out of sugar! I would love to see an Opera version of it, would be magnificent!!
Here are some of Chihuly’s works (did you know he wears an eye patch due to a car accident/injury?)
